The Trade Union and Socialist Coalition’s (TUSC) parliamentary candidate for Gloucester, Sue Powell, has put forward TUSC’s credentials as the only anti-establishment party fighting the May elections in Gloucestershire. Sue said;
“People are sick of the establishment parties. They compete to manage the capitalist system for the 1% who own most of the wealth. The idea that wealth will ‘trickle down’ to the 99% is well and truly bankrupt after the worst recession in decades. Working people have suffered falling living standards and rising poverty. Enough is enough. TUSC demands democratic public control of the major corporations so that the economy can be planned to meet the needs of the millions not the greed of the millionaires.”
Sue also highlighted the fact that UKIP, despite their claims, are well and truly embedded in the establishment.
“UKIP are for the exploitative economic system that has failed working people. They are funded by big business ex-Tory donors. They support reduced regulation of corporations that abuse the environment and their low-paid workers. UKIP oppose wealth taxes. Instead of blaming the bankers and fat cats, they pick on the low paid victims of the system like migrants and those on benefits. TUSC stands for a £10 minimum wage for all. A vote for TUSC is a vote for a real alternative to the establishment parties”
TUSC Gloucestershire is also standing for local Councils in Stroud, Gloucester, Forest of Dean and Tewkesbury.
TUSC is standing in over 130 parliamentary constituencies and 500 council wards.
